Granted, it's been a while since I stopped by, but I just came in here and found out that while I'd been on vacation from my Xanga blog, the Super showed up, repainted, installed new windows where there weren't windows before, upgraded the kitchen, rearranged my furniture and organized my sock drawer.

Good job, Xanga! Now, where are my socks??

This is not ideal, but it's better than no comic at all. And I'm sure if I made my living off of this I'd have a mirror kicking in by now. But I don't, and I've got tons of wrapping and stuff to do, so this will have to do.

Today's holiday tip: if you have extra greeting cards, hold on to them in a box specifically for that purpose, and store them with the wrapping paper. That way you have them if you come up short the following year. They also come in handy for wrapping gift cards from stores that are too freakin' cheap to give envelopes out, like, say, Genuardi's. (That's what I get for christmas shopping at the food stores.)

When all this is said and done I'll probably move these posts to the main site. And if things get ugly I will post comics here until things are fixed up.

Soooo.... the server never rebooted after it got farked up last night. Going to take more time. beautiful.

Meanwhile, here's 99 of the oddest pics of 2006 (though some are from as far back as 2005, should probably be called "oddest pics of last 12 months").

I don't enter in to the act of shopping for a new host lightly, but if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

My site's down. Has been for a few hours. Some kind of HTTPD error -- even with a Master's in Software Engineering I couldn't tell you what that means. We're working on it....

Speaking of emergencies, my webserver has apparently taken an unplanned nap, so I'm typing over here at the moment. Nice place, this. I don't get over here enough.

Nighthawk and I went out to dinner this evening -- food was excellent, but the service could've been better. Now I'm home, with Wawa chai, trying to work on the comic but slightly distracted by my utter lack of website. Some days it doesn't take much to distract me.

Anyway, hope y'all are having a good night...

Holy fsck.

So I was working on a pay job for a website when suddenly entire directories on my website started disappearing. Literally as fast as I could check them, entire chunks of my site went down. Big whopping gone-ness.

fsck.

The service folks know about the problem and they're working on it, with the files supposedly going to be present again in about an hour. But I have to work tomorrow, so I can't stay up to see if they acutally appear. I have to sweat it out. I hate that.

Anyway, if some of you beat me back onto the site tomorrow and the forum et al is working again, please feel free to report to the others what happened, and that this blog post is here.
